The ‘Paras’ is the mythical philosopher’s Stone supposed to
have the power to transform iron into gold. Hence a Paras can solve all of a
person’s financial problems. One servant was working at home his master’s
family lived in the village and the master had gone to the office. An ascetic
sadhu came home and requested the servant “I am hungry. Give me some food I
will offer you a Paras in return”. The servant was almost illiterate but he had
heard that the Paras is something valuable. He offered food to the sadhu and received
the Paras in exchange. He thought what would I do with it and he decided to
give it to his master. He placed it on his master’s table.
The master returned from his office and he was already in a
bad mood, he found a stone on his table he got further annoyed. And he shouted
the servant “What is this?” The servant said, “It is a Paras”. The master
laughed and said somebody has Paras would come and begging for you, he has
handed you an ordinary stone. The master took and threw it. It got hit at the
latch of the door, which was made of iron. In contact with the Paras it turned
into gold. The master exclaimed, “Wow what a sparkling yellow metal, is this
actually a paras he ran and lifted it up. Then he touched it with the spoon
that also turned into gold. He was now sure it was a Paras, he jumped three
feet in the air and he ran placed it in the locker of the closet of his
bedroom. And started dreaming of the most luxurious worldly pleasures, who will
work for the organization now, “I have got a Paras, I can make gold wherever I want”.
The stone was the same, initially the man had thrown it away,
no love for it. Now how did the love develop all of a sudden? It got created through
knowledge. The person was the same, the stone was the same, and the vision was
the same. When his knowledge was its ordinary lump, he had no love for it. When
his knowledge changed it is a Paras, his love hit the roof. How did these love
develop it was the consequence of true knowledge of object. That’s why true
knowledge of object is such an elixir in life. Unfortunately many people
stopped their education, the moment they graduate from the college.
Statistics in America revealed that after passing out from
college 33% of Americans never read another book completely again while
knowledge is so easily available in today’s world. So know the knowledge of the
things, keep it updating and put it in its proper perspective. However we need
two kinds of knowledge one is material knowledge and the other is spiritual knowledge.
